A basking shark typically swims with their mouth open for around 30 - 60 

seconds before closing them and swallowing. ~

Basking sharks are born in litters of around 6 pups. A pregnant female must have a very big bump before she has her babies! 

Basking shark brains are very small for such big animals. 

Basking sharks are not dangerous to the observers and are generally tolerant of divers and boats. But, their size and power must be respected.

Basking Sharks are filter feeders, they love things like plankton, krill and fish eggs!

(Also, Basking Sharks are the 2nd largest shark,

after the whale shark. Whale sharks are also filter feeders!)

Males being a bit smaller, usually being 10m

Also, did you know that suction cups on a squid have teeth in them, once their prey is caught by their tentacle, they take small delicate bites, then they finally finish them with their beak.
